Double logistic model for estimating in small areas
In this work, model based estimators for small area domains are developed. The results are illustrated with the Information Technology Business Survey (ITBS) of the Basque Country in 2010. After discussing pros and cons of the different alternatives, an estimator based on a double logistic model with categorical explanatory variables is chosen. Auxiliary information for population totals is taken from a Businesses Register. A model-based bootstrap procedure is also given to provide the MSE of the predictions.
